ORDINARY ON ANY GIVEN DAY, by Ayoka Chenzira
Ordinary On Any Given Day is an interactive art installation that features Skype interviews of prolific activists and changemakers, still images and real time user-generated stories via cell phones that become part of the installation. Conceived by interactive digital media artist and filmmaker, Ayoka Chenzira’s (Ayo), Ordinary On Any Given Day makes its debut in Istanbul at the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2011) and is invoking individuals around the world to share their thoughts about issues related to social justice and what they are doing to make the world a better place.
ORDINARY 2.0: The work continues in Ordinary 2.0, the follow up to Ordinary On Any Given Day. Ordinary 2.0 will showcase a new group of changemakers who are impacting the world through small simple acts. Their work serves as a counter narrative to critics who believe that people are apathetic and do little to make our world a better place. Their stories will become part of Ordinary 2.0, an online interactive art project by Ayo to debut in the fall of 2012.
Prepare to meet a new crop of changemakers already taking on the world.
